Think About How You’ll Conserve Electricity

The man in the gas station complained to me today about the cold and I had to agree. But I couldn’t avoid commenting on the simple reality that as soon as it warms up we’ll complain about the heat instead.
Now I have a pretty good tolerance for the heat and I don’t like air conditioning, but when I think of the millions of air conditioners that are about to get cranked up it’s very stressful.
We need to think about conserving our electricity unless we want to spend another summer under the constant threat of brown outs and with the very real chance that our power grid will get pushed over the edge and the lights will go out. Remember summer of 2003 and the eastern power failure?
Think now about what you can do to save electricity so that we’re not stuck in an emergency situation like that one again.
